Three friends in their early twenties go to the seaside for a few days like they used to when they were in high school. Gregor is a soldier on leave from a mission abroad, Živa is a lively girl who lives in denial of her feelings for Gregor, and Andrej is their best friend who uses his sharp tongue to attack the world around him, as a way of hiding the fact that he feels lonely and misunderstood. During the outing they have lively discussions about their present lives, enjoying themselves in spite of some destructive and controversial acts, but stay gentle and caring towards each other. Some personal secrets gradually unfold to test their friendship bonds. By genre a road-movie, the film portrays three young people born shortly before the breakdown of Yugoslavia and now living in independent Slovenia.

"A Trip is a story about three young people facing serious life issues for the first time. It is a story of their friendship, told from the viewpoint of the lost and confused generation of the 1980s. The camera is there to convey the story and it does not intervene in it. We are just spectators of the world that our characters are forced to live in. This is a story about the trip that changes their lives." (Nejc Gazvoda)
